AI flashcard maker · FSRS spaced repetition

Type a word.
Get the card.
Keep it forever.

An AI flashcard generator should save the hour of card-making without leaving you a pile of generic trivia. Type manzana into a Spanish deck and Repeto writes the translation, gender, and example sentence. Drop in a lecture, PDF, or textbook photo and get an editable deck, ready for FSRS review.

live demo

Demo of card creation: typing “manzana” into a Spanish-to-English deck instantly creates a full flashcard — apple, noun, feminine, with an example sentence. The same input on a Biology deck writes a definition card, and on a History deck a question-and-answer card. The deck decides the card.

Same box, four decks. The deck decides the card.

Space to flip · 14 to rate
Remember it

Four ratings. A schedule shaped by your reviews.

Try the answer, reveal the card, then choose Again · Hard · Good · Easy. FSRS uses that review history to estimate the card's current memory state and choose its next interval. The estimate improves as you complete more real reviews.

Cards surface as they come due, so a session is five spare minutes wherever you are — never an evening you have to plan.

Don't take our word for it — the demo on the left is live. Click a card, or focus it and hit Space and 14.

Why spacing helps

Every memory changes at a different rate.

Without retrieval, recall usually becomes less likely over time. A successful review strengthens the memory. FSRS uses your own review history to estimate each card and choose its next interval; the chart below illustrates that idea rather than predicting your retention.

Build a review habit you can keep.

Every review plants a square. Skip a day and the gap stares back at you — that's the point. Sessions take minutes, and the queue refills itself as your cards come due.

Tell each deck what a useful card looks like.

A vocabulary card, physics definition, and history question need different fields. Each deck carries its own instructions, so the same input can produce a different draft. You decide what to edit, keep, or delete before review.

Add several terms to draft a batch, then check the results together. Deck instructions use plain language: “always Latin-American Spanish”, “answers under 10 words”, or “include IPA”. Important facts still need comparison with the source.

Flashcards from your material

Turn PDFs, notes, images, and lectures into editable drafts.

Add the material you are actually studying and define what you need to remember. Repeto proposes cards in that deck's format: vocabulary from a language article, definitions from a biology PDF, or focused questions from a lecture transcript.

Pasted text notes, chat logs, whatever's on your clipboard
PDF & documents .pdf, .docx, .txt, .md — text extracted
Links & Wikipedia any article URL — the text is fetched
YouTube the transcript becomes the material
Audio & video recorded lectures — transcribed first
Photos a textbook page, a slide, a whiteboard

Large sources run as background jobs with visible progress. Before studying a batch, compare names, dates, numbers, formulas, and negations with the source; split overloaded questions and delete duplicates or trivia.

Anki-compatible

Test an Anki deck without giving up your exit path.

Repeto supports two-way .apkg import and export. Start with one representative deck, inspect its cards and media in the import preview, and confirm the result before relying on it. Export again whenever you want to verify your collection remains portable.

The app

One calm place to study.

The Repeto web interface keeps your decks, today's due cards, and card creation in one place. Study data is saved locally first, syncs when a connection is available, and the main review flow supports keyboard controls.

FAQ

Fair questions.

Is Repeto free?

Yes — and reviewing stays free forever. The free plan includes unlimited manual cards, unlimited review with FSRS scheduling, 10 AI card generations a week, Anki import/export, and 100 MB of media storage. Pro removes the generation limit, unlocks generating cards from material (PDFs, links, audio, photos), and raises storage to 5 GB.

Is it Anki-compatible?

Repeto supports import and export of compatible Anki .apkg packages, including deck, card, and media data. Use the import preview and test a representative deck first, especially if it has custom templates or a newer package format. Imported cards are reviewed with FSRS, and you can export to .apkg again when you want to verify portability.

Does it work offline? Does it sync?

Both. The web app at app.repeto.ai keeps working offline and syncs when you reconnect. The Repeto update for iPhone and iPad is in preparation; App Store download claims will appear here when that update is publicly released.

Can the AI flashcard generator make cards from PDFs and notes?

Yes. Use a typed term, pasted notes, PDFs, Word documents, article URLs, Wikipedia pages, YouTube videos, audio or video lectures (transcribed first), or photos of textbook pages. Larger sources run as background jobs. Repeto returns an editable proposal batch so you can verify, revise, and approve cards before they enter review.

Can I edit AI-generated flashcards before studying them?

Yes. Repeto treats generated cards as a proposed batch, not a finished answer key. Check the questions against your source, edit wording or context, remove duplicates and trivia, and approve only the cards worth adding to your review queue.

What is FSRS?

The Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler is an open algorithm that estimates a card's memory state from your review history and chooses a next interval for a target retention setting. It is also available in modern Anki. You rate each review Again, Hard, Good, or Easy; FSRS updates the estimate and schedule.

Is my data mine?

Completely. Export your entire collection as .apkg whenever you want, and delete your account — and everything in it — from the app at any time.

Is there an iPhone or iPad app?

The Repeto update for iPhone and iPad is coming soon. The Repeto web app is at app.repeto.ai, and this page will link to the App Store once the Repeto update is publicly released.

Create a small deck. Check it. Start reviewing.

Begin with ten terms or one short section of notes. Edit the proposed cards, keep the useful ones, and let FSRS build a review schedule from your answers.
