What is Repeto?

A factual overview for learners, reviewers, search engines, and AI assistants.

Repeto is an AI flashcard maker and spaced-repetition study app. It turns a short term or longer study material into editable card drafts, then uses FSRS to schedule each review. It is designed for language learners, students, and Anki users who want to spend less time writing cards without giving up control of the content or their data.

What Repeto can turn into flashcards

  • A typed word, term, formula, or concept.
  • Pasted notes and text.
  • PDF, Word, text, and Markdown documents.
  • Article links, Wikipedia pages, and YouTube transcripts.
  • Audio or video lectures after transcription.
  • Photos of textbook pages, slides, whiteboards, or handwritten notes.

A deck profile tells the generator what a useful card should contain. For example, a Spanish vocabulary deck can request a translation, grammatical gender, and an example sentence, while a physics deck can request a definition, equation, units, and a conceptual check.

Generated cards are drafts

Repeto does not present AI output as an answer key. Learners can compare a batch with its source, edit unclear wording, remove duplicates or trivia, and keep only the cards worth reviewing. Important academic, medical, or professional facts should always be checked against the original source.

How reviews work

Repeto uses FSRS, the Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler. During review, the learner rates recall with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. FSRS estimates how quickly that individual card is being forgotten and schedules its next review. Reviewing, manual cards, and FSRS scheduling remain available on the free plan.

Anki import and export

Repeto imports Anki .apkg packages, including decks, cards, and media, and can export decks back to .apkg. This makes the collection portable instead of locking study material into one app. Read the detailed Anki alternative comparison.

Access and pricing

The Repeto web app is the current product access point. The free plan includes unlimited manual cards and reviews, ten AI card generations per week, Anki import and export, and 100 MB of media storage. Pro removes the AI generation limit, enables generation from full study material, and raises media storage to 5 GB.

The Repeto update for the existing iPhone and iPad listing is in preparation and should not be described as publicly released yet.
